Featuring the “Love” of Pastor Ronnie Baity

Just when Chuckles thinks he has seen all that there is of arrogance, rudeness, and taking God’s Word out of context, along comes someone like Ronnie L. Baity (pictured below, right.)  Mr. Baity is the pastor of Berean Baptist Church, of Winston-Salem, NC.

Ronnie Baity, Pastor Berean Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, NC

Yesterday, Chuckles received a call from a middle age women who was at New Bethany Girls Home in Arcadia, Louisiana in 1982.  This Christian lady told Chuckles about being concerned because she had found out that a church she had grown up in was still supporting Mack Ford and New Bethany which has been closed since for over 10 years.  Chuckles could hear her voice quivering and cracking as she told me she was very nervous to make the phone to ask the pastor if he were aware that the money his church was sending as a missionary for his “ministry to wayward teens” going to a ministry not longer existed as she told Chuckles about a friend who had contacted Pastor Baity about New Bethany as Baity’s response.  This lady then told Chuckles of a survivor, who sent the following, correct Chuckles if he is wrong very respectul email to Berean Baptist Church in the fall of 2010 stating facts.

It has been brought to my attention, that your church is sending money to Mack Ford, founder of the New Bethany Homes, aka: New Bethany Baptist Church.

The church is no longer functioning. Were you aware of this? Why is money being sent to a church, that is not holding services? Is your congregation aware of this?

Mack Ford is a child abuser/pedophile, who for decades abused young girls/boys all in the name of God. There are many documents, in reference to the exploitation of children as well as the abuse.

Do you know that while his *home* was up and running, that he was receiving up to $750.00 per child residing there? He did not run on donations only. You were only told this, so he would receive the most money possible, to help run his *homes*.

Respectfully,

Mr. Baity, (he doesn’t deserve the title pastor) wrote the following response.  He was such a brave man that he sent it through the church secretary’s email account.   Baity was s bold he hid behind a woman skirt not even bothering to sign his own name to something like this:

“Please pay close attention

1.  How this church spends its money is none of your business since you don’t help pay the bills.

 2.  A person does not have to be a part of a church to receive help.  We help people individually that do no necessarily make up a church

 3.  We have a reason for helping Mack Ford, which you know nothing about, and if we told you it is evident you would not understand.

4.  There is a verse of Scripture that would help you if you would take time to read it.  Galatians 6:1– “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of   meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.”–What have you done to help restore him other than condemn him?

5.  I trust you don’t read the first five books of the Bible since the man God used to write them was a murderer.

 6.  I am sure you are not reading the Psalms since David committed adultery and murder.

 7.  I am sure you are not reading the writings of the Apostle Paul since he was a murderer.

 8.  You know you should write your own book of instruction since you are about the only perfect person left.

Yesterday evening Chuckles checked Berean Baptist Churches missionary page from the churches website.

Sure enough, there is it as plain as the nose of Chuckles face

New Bethany Baptist Church

For now, Chuckles just wants to mention something about the first point from Mr. Baity’s email.  Berean Baptist Church is a registered non-profit organization in the state of North Carolina.  As a non-profit, the church, and Mr. Baity do have to account for where the money goes.  Berean Baptist Church also has a tax-exempt status from the IRS as well.  Wonder how the IRS would look at it when the Church is sending money for over a decade to a “church” that has not held services for over a decade?

Looking further into the missionary list on Berean Baptist Church.  Reclamation Ranch from Alabama is now closed.

Reclamation Ranch in Alabama is closed

Another home that is apparently closed since the last tax returns were filed were for 2009 is listed on the missionary list:

Farmer Christian Academy

CP Traveler will be writing a post focusing on the Biblical problems with Mr. Baity’s email.  In the meantime, Pastor Baity, they say a picture speaks a thousand words.  Here is a picture just for you.

Hopefully more than a few hard-working people in your congregation whose money is sent to places that are closed down will also see this and stop giving you money.  Pastor Baity, as they say in the south,

“Bless your heart.  You have a nice day now, ya’ hear!”

  2. If these guys are receiving money as a corporation but that corporation has ceased operations, then involvement by the feds isn’t too far of a stretch to consider. Money laundering, fraud, tax evasion…they all could come into play depending on how this is being handled on both sides. And it wouldn’t necessarily just focus on the recipients, either – knowingly assisting someone in tax evasion is every bit as illegal as the actual tax evasion itself. The FBI has jurisdiction in “white-collar crimes” (http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/investigate/white_collar) which sounds a lot like what this could be. I’ll just pick three random offices…

Greensboro, NC FBI division headquarters: (336) 855-7770
Shreveport, LA FBI division headquarters: (318) 861-1890
Birmingham, AL FBI field office: (205) 326-6166

  3. Arrogance knows no bounds when a self proclaimed “man of God” is involved. Mac Ford is able to live on his sprawling acreage free of debt and free from work because of the financial support he gets from churches. There is no ministry any more. The authorities saw to it that he finally was shut down for good. Oh, if these congregations only knew where their money goes….

  4. There were other “pastors” and donors who also participated in the abuses at Mac Ford’s homes. I wonder how much of this “continued support” is really payoff money to stop them from being implicated in sexual and other abuse from those days.

    • I know that one of the pastors messed with girls at NB and he supports Mack Ford!

I also noticed how web sites started using to hide the code that links to Ministries. Too bad he has such a crappy web site because he will have to change this on every single page to keep me out. I know how to play games too!~
      Watcha’ hiding there???
Seems too involved with the kiddie transport to church.. reckon they have to get there numbers and kids from somewhere. They have a production company and all sorts of stuff to put HIS money into!~ SICK!~

  5. Holy cow. What an arrogant jerk that pastor is. I’m embarrased that he is from my state.

It doesn’t matter to the pastor that the congregation’s money is going to support someone who is guilty of a crime or who abused others. The pastor should loose his position

  6. I am sure that Ronnie Baity has many things to hide…Mack Ford was/is a monster. Any ‘man of God’ would never have such a reaction, unless he was a monster right along side of him.

The statement that was made by Ron Baity- “We have a reason for helping Mack Ford, wich you know nothing about, and if we told you it is evident you would not understand’. Sends up a red flag.
Does he even know the person that sent him the e-mail? Is he aware of what the connection may be? Is he really that arrogant, that he thinks that the children who suffered Mack Fords horrendous abuses have forgotten? Ronnie Baity came to New Bethany, Many times. You know birds of a feather….Right?
He obviously is the one who has forgotten what was done to the children, or has he? According to his response, I highly doubt it…..

    • I can’t say for sure but having been to Berean a few times I’ve heard Baity say nearly the exact same things from the pulpit in the same tone with the same delivery style. I know that’s totally unfalsifiable since you don’t know me and I could just be making stuff up, but I am firmly convinced in my mind that he either wrote this himself or dictated it to the secretary who sent it on his behalf. This is vintage Baity talking.

  7. Chuckles, I so appreciate the time you have taken, to help us seek some kind of justice for the things that man did to us ans children. I would not be surprised at all, that these churches launder money between themselves. Sometimes when I read some of the things posted about these IFB Churches, it seems like I am reading about the mob, and not a group of Preachers. Our parents sent thousands of dollars to that man, he provided us with the bare necessities to get buy. The children lived in such poverty while under that roof, that we were allowed 4 sheets to toilet paper, when using the bathroom!! I mean really how much was toilet paper in the 80’s? So high that for us it became a luxury!! How sad and pathetic is that? Churches would send us clothing, that the Ford girls always got first pick at, and most others were made to wear things left by other girls. That place was a living nightmare for so many of us. It was 30 years ago that I was placed there, and it wasn’t until last summer when I returned for the first time, and looked that *Evil* man in the face, that I finally felt some sort of freedom, from the things that New Bethany had instilled in me, so long ago. He is old he is pathetic and soon enough he will meet his maker. Answering to me, is nothing compared to when he must answer to God!!! Thanks for listening. and for all you do.

  9. I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that Churches, once they got their exempt status as a Church from the IRS, don’t have to show or prove anything to the IRS. Anyone know for sure??

    • Over the last few years the IRS has been cracking down on religious non-profits. Financial reports have to be filed and if not disclosed correctly or completely the church or religious non-profit have in some cases lost the non-profit status. Most churches are automatically exempted from federal income tax under the provisions of section 501(c)(3) of I. R. C. and therefore the church is not required to file federal income tax returns (Form 990) so long as your church retains a tax-exempt status. However, the church needs to send an annual report including a financial statement to filed by January 31 of each year for the previous year file an annual report to the IRS. Churches are not liable for federal unemployment taxes. Per IRS, your church should issue a statement of receipt either when a daily contribution exceeds $250, or Quid Pro Quo contribution exceeds $75.

To satisfy the IRS substantiation requirement your church needs to include the following paragraph at the end of the statement:

“No benefits were provided to you in return for your contribution other than intangible religious benefits. Please retain this letter for your tax records, since it fulfills the substantiation requirements that must be met in order to deduct your contribution.” (Title XIII of OBRA ’93 P.L. 103-66)

There are other IRS Forms does a church need to issue.
Form 8282: This is to be completed by the church only if non-cash donated items are sold within two years.
Form 8283: This form is submitted to the IRS for donations from the church of non-cash items in excess of $500.
Form 8300: If a church receives $10,000 or more in cash (lump sum), it would need to be reported to the IRS.
Most states require churches to provide Workers’ Compensation for their ministers and lay employees. However, a very few states exempt churches from it. Please check with your state.

  14. Oh, I could list 50 things for which I detest Ron Baity. All I will say is he is a thug, and IFB thug. I hadn’t been to the Berean Baptist website in a while but clicked on the missionary page link in the above article and found that BBC has completely removed it. I cannot find a missionary support page anywhere on their site. I think that speaks volumes about their guilt, coverup, and lack of remorse. No surprise there. If someone hasn’t contacted the IRS about this, I hope someone will soon. And I hope the IRS will listen and then investigate this phony pastor and his “church” records.

  15. I REMEMBER THIS MAN AND HIS SEC AT THE JULY CAMP WHEN I WAS THERE THIS MAN IS ALSO A MONSTER AS WELL

Thoughts?
